Within the designated framework of REACH activity, Smithers can provide guidance based on a combination of market share, tonnage band, chemistry and product end-use to assure appropriate timeliness of dossier submission and assure continued business revenue stream. This includes reviewing data to determine the most appropriate hazard and exposure assessment factors as well as risk management strategies to ensure safety while avoiding market disruptions from uneccesary risk management measures or over stringent classifications.
While a focus on higher tonnage materials is usually of particular importance, the planning for hazard and exposure testing proves critical. For data owners, remaining active with the lower tonnage substances is also necessary to meet each SIEF request within the required timeframe set forth in the REACH Regulation (i.e. 30 days with proof of receipt). Smithers can assist monitor the SIEF activity to ensure that the value of purchasing data is worth the investment or when it might be appropriate to ‘opt-out’ from a joint registration.
Smithers can also assist create framework to assess and manage the impact that registration may have through a supply chain. This proves particularly valuable for product design and development.
